This week, Ps. Jorge began a new series in the Ten Commandments, and we want to make sure you get the most out of it.
If you missed this message, or if you want to listen to it again, you can find it in any of the platforms below:
Any study of the Ten Commandments must begin with God. As we begin, we must not forget that the same God who gave these laws to us is the God who delivered His people from slavery. If we do forget, we do a great disservice to God, these commandments, and to ourselves. We have all too often turned these commands into a static law code rather than a way of life in relationship with the God who gave them to us. If we don’t know anything about this law-giving God, how much value can these commandments actually have for us?
It was back in 2012 when we stepped into our current building. We saw God provide in a mighty way and we had our first service here on Easter Sunday that year.
We own our building and we have no debt on it.
As with any good gift God gives, this one also comes with great responsibility. Part of that responsibility is to maintain our building in good shape and we have done a great job so far. But some things here are just getting old. Last week for example, about 8 toilets needed work done (a little over $2,000 worth of work). And just like that, little by little it adds up.
Thankfully, God has always provided through the generous people at The Gathering. Lately, we have been encouraging you to give towards our building fund in order to continue to improve things around. And we are thankful that many of you have responded by giving above and beyond your tithe and offering; may God continue to bless you! So far we've raised about $1,400.
As a Church, we are also generous. So far since March we've given almost $13,000 to missions, Church district, and other ministries that have an impact around the world. We have hosted a pop up distribution event once a month for the last 4 months and ministered to hundreds of families with food, baby items, and the love of Christ.
We want to continue to experience God's miraculous provision as we generously sow seeds week by week and we want you to be part of it.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support.
We have been on Joshua for our Midweek Study. We hope you can join us each Wednesday at 7pm. To receive a text reminder before we go live, simply text the word DEVO to 432-242-8242. If you have already texted this before, you don't have to do it again.
